Live radio secure streaming?

Thank you for sharing this. It looks like a very fun project.

This reminded me of a project I have been noodling for some time. I live quite a distance from my home town, and I am unable to listen to the radio streams of sporting events due to geolocation restrictions. I have been considering using a Pi with a software defined radio to build a device which will receive the local radio station and stream it to a cloud service which I can restrict for secure access. I do not want the world to receive it (and have lawyers come after me). I only want to be able to login at times when interesting events are in progress, and listen to them.

I could then leave the device connected at the home of family in that area.

Any thoughts on such a project?

Re: another tip

Thanks for the comment, bittin. I did hear about mopidy some time ago but it fell through the cracks of my memory, LOL. I'll check it out further.

Re: Live radio secure streaming?

Trey, that sounds like a very interesting project and something I'd love to hear about on HPR! Do let us know if it was successful or not!
